They did it!

AK got married.  And it was thoroughly beautiful, happy, and awesome.

I had so much fun working on this wedding!  But it was definitely a group effort – thanks to everyone for putting in long hours tying little bows on programs and packing vases in boxes and baking cookies.

The theme of the wedding was Adventure and the decor was based around old maps, travel, and the movie Up.  Which brings me to tears just thinking about it.  I love that movie!

And also many, many thanks to Jacob Bechtel at lylphotography for the amazing photos!  He is truly wonderful – you can find more of his work here.  All photos are courtesy of lylphotography.

What a perfect day for a wedding!

The programs were designed to be reminiscent of Ellie’s “Adventure Book” from the movie “Up” and contained the couples’ love story, order of ceremony, and wedding party info.

Each guest also got a jingle bell with a tag attached that read, “After the kiss, ring for wedded bliss!”  It was a beautiful sound as the couple were announced as husband and wife and then all throughout the reception, guests rang their bells.

No wedding is complete without the cutest ring-bearer in the world!

A small table served as a place for gifts, sparklers for the send-off, and a hashtag notification for guests who use Instagram.  I’m a dinosaur and not really down with the whole technology thing, but apparently guests could use the same # and then all of the photos from the night would be grouped together saving everyone the trouble of hunting down pictures.  What a great idea!

Each of the tables were decorated differently with lanterns, pinecones, and other nostalgic  and travel memorabilia.

In addition to cupcakes, there were cookies and milk to go around and which were enjoyed by all!

I love comments. Did you also threaten to burn down your kitchen? Do you know how to get dogs (or ducks) to stop digging holes? Please tell me about it.
